Mondays, June 7, 14 & 21 ● 1 - 3pm

Learn a lifelong skill with our pro Pam. "The lightbulb really goes off between the second and third class". In this series of 3 classes you will learn the anatomy of a stitch and how to recognize Knits and Purls, while following a pattern with knitting terminology. You will also be exposed to reading a chart, another component of pattern reading. Finish the class with tips and tricks, practice fixing mistakes, and leave with ideas and patterns to confidently move on to your next project!



Join Live Online Chats with Some of Fiber's Most Exciting Creators

It's easy peasy to join in. Fiberside Chats costs $20 to register You'll want to scroll down to choose Yarn Bar as your home shop.

Some of your favorite designers and creators will join us for a series of online gatherings with a partnership with fellow LYS, Longmont Yarn Shoppe: Fiberside Chats!

Launched in May of 2020, these gatherings, hosted on Zoom, are one-hour sessions with special guests joining us to give a peek into their world. These designers and creators will discuss their unique path, creative processes, latest projects—or whatever is inspiring them now. There will also be a Q&A session, giveaways, and other fun surprises for those who join!


Saturday, June 12, 19, & 26, 2021 ● 10:00am-12:00pm

Top down DK weight sock class. You will learn a good sock cast on, how to knit a heel flap/gusset, how to kitchener the toe. These are great boot socks or house socks, nice and warm for Montana winters.

Materials: DK yarn 100g-150g MC for single color socks, or 100g MC and 50g CC for contrast heel/toe/cuffs.

US #2 and US #3 32" cable needles

Pattern will be provided upon sign up.

Fee: $45 plus materials (10% discount on supplies in shop)



MONDAYS JUNE 21, 28, JULY 5, 12, & 19 FROM 6 - 8 PM

Master Knitter and pattern designer Bonnie Dean is back in Billings for the summer and we're happy she can be a knitting coach for up to 6 lucky knitters who are at assorted stages of Sweater Knitting Careers. If you've been pondering a certain sweater but wanting a little pro-support, these five weeks are what you need! Also perfect for a first-time sweater knitter.


Fee:  $50.00 - all materials for class receive a 10% discount in shop 

We will want to know what your sweater plan is before Sweater Sessions begin, so Bonnie can get prepared. New sweater knitters - talk to us! We have great suggestions.



June 22 & 29 ● 5:30 - 7:30 PM



The next step in our Learn to Knit series: gather around our table with Linda and make the Perfectly Easy Beanie - a tried and true classic. You’ll learn to knit in the round and shape the top of your hat, which incorporates DPNs (double point needles). Voila! You’ll be amazed that you’ve turned a beautiful strand of yarn into a warm hug for somebody’s special noggin.

A two session advanced/beginner sock class using Shannon's "You Got This" pattern.

You'll learn toe-up sock construction and a German Short Row Heel.

Fee: $40

Legends Stranded Hat

Saturday, July 10, 2021 ● 12:30pm-3:30pm

Join Shannon and learn about stranded colorwork while making a cute hat. You'll learn the basics of stranded knitting: color dominance, catching your floats, and colorwork chart reading.

HOMEWORK: cast on and have brim ribbing completed before the workshop please!

Fee: $35

Materials: Legends Hat Pattern, Sport weight yarn (Chickadee, and Andorra are good choices) in 3 colors, US 5 & 6 circular 16" needles (*go up a size if you are a tight knitter!), and size 6 DPNs for finishing. Supplies discount of 10% in shop.


Circle and Square Hat

A fun, and super unique construction makes this hat. It's written for sock yarn, but is easliy adaptable to any weight. We are going to knit a mini hat to make sure you get all the techniques in. This is a relatively easy hat, but you must be open to adventure from the beginning to the end.
