Many of you will recognize her as the former owner of Billings Gymnastics School and know that she is comfortable teaching all types of learners. According to Becky, "the lightbulb really goes off between the second and third class". In this series of 3 classes you will learn the anatomy of a stitch and how to recognize Knits and Purls, while following a pattern with knitting terminology. You will also be exposed to reading a chart, another component of pattern reading. Finish the class with tips and tricks, practice fixing mistakes, and leave with ideas and patterns to confidently move on to your next project! Cost: $50 plus supplies

Short Row Workshop

Short rows have many useful functions when it comes to shaping and designing your knitting. Learning how and when to implement this method is a valuable addition to any knitter's repertoire.This class teaches 4 different types of short row methods:Wrap-&-Turn, yarn-over, Japanese-Sunday, and German (double stitch). Kim designed this cowl pattern with purpose of practicing the different techniques.
Materials: two colors of DK weight yarn for Kim's cowl pattern, 24" circular size 6 needle, and light colored scrap yarn DK weight
Brioche and Tuck Workshop

Learn brioche knit and purl stitches, brioche terminology, techniques and tricks with our guest instructor and Brioche Expert Kim Hays. She provides a cowl pattern that she's developed to solidify your techniques and create a great cowl with your newly acquired skills. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with lunch provided, and Monday evening (Aug. 12) help session included! Materials needed: Size 8-16" circular needle and 2 different colors DK or Worsted weight yarn, approximately 100 grams each.
