Learn the Cocoknits sweater construction techniques from Bonnie as we all work through a nicely fitted top down Emma sweater pattern from the Cocoknits Sweater Workshop book by Julie Weisenberger.
We suggest purchasing the book and reading through before deciding on yarn.
Cocoknits Sweater Workshop (book) by Julie Weisenberger
Yarn as outlined for Emma p. 58 for any of these versions: A and B long sleeve; B short sleeve, or C (cardigan); CHOOSE YOUR SIZE BASED ON CROSS-BACK MEASUREMENT—THIS IS A FITTED SWEATER; WE CAN ADJUST ST COUNT FOR BUST IF NEEDED
US 11/8 mm 40” circular needle or size necessary for gauge for all versions
US 11/8 mm 24-32” circular needle or size necessary for gauge for versions A and B (needed after workshop to complete sweater)
US 0-3/2-3.25 mm for picking up sts
6 st markers to fit US 11 needle in red, green, orange, blue, violet, and yellow (Cocoknits has these colors)
Row counter (the initial pattern is only based on rows—not length) and Cocoknits row counter is excellent
Pencil with ERASER!
RULER for filling out your Worksheet in class
Knit a gauge swatch with your project yarn on US 11 in St st to assure you reach gauge of 12 sts and 18 rows=4” in your blocked swatch. If necessary, adjust needle size to get gauge. This will allow you to get a great start on your project in the workshop!
Looking forward to your Emma projects with this great method of seamless, top-down sweaters
