Knitting and teaching pro Kim Hays guides you through the Dreyma sweater - a fun, stranded, colorwork sweater project. Knit with Lettlopi yarn, this pattern by Jennifer Steingass is a great pattern for knitters wanting to learn or practice more color stranding and other essential sweater techniques. Lopi, the classic and affordable wool from Iceland, is a very forgiving yarn which makes it excellent for stranded colorwork. Kim Hays has been a teacher most of her adult life. She started out as a skiing and kayaking instructor, then taught school for 15+ years, and is now a knitting instructor and pattern designer. She specializes in teaching the brioche stitch and fell in love with the technique after taking several classes from Nancy Marchant, starting in 2014. She was a finalist at the Vogue Live Show Rowan Yarn design contest for her brioche lace poncho. Her patterns are specific to the types of classes she teaches, taking into consideration the needs of the student. Along with her fondness for brioche knitting, Kim enjoys knitting and teaching all types of color work, with Fair Isle being her latest love after studying with native Shetlanders in 2022 and 2024.
