12.5% our Thread waste

DK weight, tweed yarn and the coloured bits are our own hand-dyed waste - the ties that Hedgehog takes off the hand dyed skeins. They save them very diligently and it's a total labour of love!

They have been collecting the ties for a while and finally found a mill that could process these, which means re-carding them, blending and spinning into yarn again. It's just calling for sweaters and cardigans.

Hedgehog Fibres is always looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly and to minimise waste. On top of the thread waste, we are using recycled wool, making 50% of the total content recycled. We love the result! It's soft, yet wooly. Not superwash and it blooms beautifully after washing. 230m/100g.

Dyelots may vary though we represent every dyelot as accurately as possible in the product photos. Colors may vary from skein to skein, even within the same dye lot. If you buy more than one, we will do our best to match them up. Please ensure you buy enough to finish your project as future dye lots may vary. Please note, although we take great care in photographing our yarns, colors may vary slightly from monitor to monitor.
