Not-So-Basic Christmas Stocking Class
Christmas Stocking: Knit the Basics
Make a classic Christmas stocking while learning techniques that will come in handy far beyond the holidays. Based on the Churchmouse Basic Christmas Stocking, this four-session class will cover knitting in the round, jogless stripes, an afterthought heel, and the Kitchener stitch.
Never knit a sock? This is a great first step! You’ll learn several of the same techniques used in sock knitting, but in a festive, approachable project you can enjoy for years to come.
We will learn: jogless stripes, afterthought heel, Kitchener stitch.
Homework: Please arrive at the first class with the cuff completed and approximately 2" of the stocking knitted so we can jump right into the techniques.
A great little project for learning sock-knitting skills without having to commit to an actual sock. Your feet can wait. Your Christmas stocking cannot.
Supplies: Churchmouse Basic Christmas Stocking pattern, worsted weight wool in colors of your choice, 1 16"-US7, another circular #7 (16' or 24") and 2 24" long circulars in a much smaller size like a #3 or #4 (raid your needle stash!) stitch markers & waste yarn.
