Inspire Each Other All Year Long
We’re all at different stages in our making journey. But we're all part of a Making Community. We all get inspired from different pattern designers, different groups of creative friends, and our own individual inclinations! The great thing about the knitting and crochet world is that there is always something new to learn. We invite our Yarn Bar "family" to challenge yourself with one of your projects in 2022 - throw yourself a little (or big) curve.
This challenge can be whatever YOU want it to be - here are just a few examples: learn a Turkish Cast-on, make your first sweater, FairIsle mittens, learn the Cocoknits Sweater Method, make your first pair of socks, learn a new sock technique, make a family of Christmas Stockings, a couple of holiday presents that you really plan ahead for. Learn Entrelac or Brioche, double knitting, intarsia, steeking, use up all the blue yarn in your stash, finish one UFO, learn five new crochet edgings, make one thing from your favorite book, ANYTHING!!!
Give it some thought. Let us know what your challenge is by January 31. We’ll be chatting about our RYB community on our social media and videos; we think everyone will inspire each other. We hope to give a progress report or two throughout the year and we’d like you all to show us your completed challenge by the end of 2022! Everyone who joins us will receive a commemorative tote bag later in the year and yarn for your specific challenge will be 15% off.

My personal challenge is to finish up some projects and use up single skeins of yarn so I will be looking for ideas and yarns to fill out projects.
Haha! I’m just tickled! I’m a school counselor in Reno, NV and we stopped by the store in its old location a couple years ago on one of our motorcycles with our pup, Kewpie. Anyway, we’ll be traveling through again this summer and I was already exited to stop by and see the new store! Now I need to ponder my RYB… 🤔🐑🧶
I want to make Advant stockings! I have my pattern, but haven’t bought my yarn yet, I hope to do so in February!
I will be knitting the Soundtrack by Marie Green for myself and finishing it by my birthday in December. 🧶
Hi Sue and Linda. I just signed up for your Raise Your Bar Challenge. My challenge is going to be making a pair of socks. Maybe I will even learn two different methods of sock making. My big back surgery is coming up very soon so I’m going to have a LOT of down time. I do love your store and all who dwell within. :)
