When we started thinking about our next knitalong. and the knitalong calendar relative to actual calendar, and the urge to "knit all the things", we decided to throw in a (potentially) quick one in January for pillows. (Oh yeah, one more reason is that Sue needs more cozy cushions at English house.) We also wanted to expose more of you, dear readers, to Fifty Four Ten Studio's offerings. So when we were opening the shop and wanted a blanket sample made with Cestari merino, we did the On The Porch pattern. She's our go-to spot on Ravelry when someone wants to make a blanket.
The patterns are written for a good-sized gauge (size 9 needles and up), they all offer a size range from baby to quite big, and all are really easy to follow. We've had folks knit these for baby gifts over and over. Our friend Teddy zipped in to knit a second one as soon as she got the request from "hipster" niece who had received the original one Teddy made, gets the "where did you get that blanket" comment from fellow hipster parents, and wanted another one in different color.
