Coming Together

Coming Together

Posted by Linda Heins on

In general, we've always felt like our yarn-y community is very supportive of each other and we continue to feel this way. But the COVID-19 outbreak has quickly reminded us of those with the biggest hearts and we'd like to give a shout-out to our vendors who fit this bill.

Katrinkles posted about each shop that carries her products on her Instagram feed. This put our little shop in Montana on the radar of her Instagram followers (lots more than us) and we actually received a couple of new customer orders.

Kelbourne Woolens immediately reached out to their shops and offering to share all product pictures for those working to upload merchandise to websites, and to continually offer messages of support.

PolkaDot Sheep also let her shops know right away that we are free to use her product pictures.

Mountain Colors and Mountain Meadow Wool sent kind messages to their shop owners.

Fiber Seed and our notions distributors have also been great. Ravelry did some behind-the-scenes magic to put local shops front and center on each user's home page.

Blue Sky Fibers generously shared all product pictures and scrambled to fill last minute orders for the Seven Sisters KAL before having to close their warehouse last week.

Drop shipping direct from warehouses to customers via our shop is also happening now - thanks so much Berroco and Cestari!

Our larger distributors, Sirdar, Berocco, and Knitting Fever have been great about keeping us updated and sending messages of support for independent yarn shops.

It's actually reinforced a lot of what we already knew and liked about the yarn companies we've stocked in the shop. We'll remember these kindnesses going forward as we settle in to the new normal, cultivating good relationships to maintain and nurture.
