Knit A Little-Long

Knit A Little-Long

Excited!!! Yes, we are - it's been a while since a book made us squeal like little kids, but this one sure did. Here's the back story:  in February, one of many daily emails we receive was something from Marie Greene aka Olive Knits about a new book called Knit a Little. The book description seemed cute enough, and Marie has a good following here in the shop, so we pre-ordered. Oh ~ another nice catch from our perspective was that the book wouldn't be available on Amazon - showing some wonderful support for local yarn shops from Marie herself!

So the books arrived on Monday this week and as we said, we were literally squealing at the cuteness of the tiny sweater photos. Marie has taken several of her adult designs and modified them for little people. There are also quite a few hat patterns for all sizes in the book; one could knit coordinates for the whole family, a wee matchy-match sweater for mom and baby, cousins, whomever your little heart desires!

We thought about a knitalong when we actually saw the books, dismissed the idea for right now, but added the book to the video chat plan for the week. During the chat, the knitalong idea again resurfaced . . . and we got a super fun name for a knitalong from one of our enthusiastic viewers in Minnesota (thanks again Heidi!!!), and the Knit A Little-Long was hatched right there on live TV (tee-hee, I guess it was live instagram tv).

Like all of our knitalongs, yarn specifically for it will be 15% off. No finishing deadlines. Make anything in the book! The patterns use a good variety of yarn weights; we have great options in shop, and we would love, love, love to see final projects either in person or via photos.

Here are a few snapshots of projects straight from the book's pages! Hope we've inspired you to join our spontaneous Knit A Little-Long. And as always, thank you for reading along!
