Latvian Braid Technique
Saturday, November 9, 10 - Noon
What is a Latvian Braid? It is a decorative detail that creates a 3D effect that can be used on anything from hats, mittens or sweaters. It is a spectacular knitting technique that creates the look of a twist or rope embedded into your knitting. The Latvian Braid is worked in a three round process and is typically worked in two colors.
This 2 hour workshop with Sarah Lemon will show the basics, beginning with a special 2 color cast-on, and then getting into the "braiding".
You will need two contrasting colors of Rauma Finull (found here), and a selection of #3, #4, #5 - 16" circular needles. There is no homework, but you'll need to feel comfortable with all the basics knitting skills.
