Yellowstone Colorwork Hat

October 12 and 19, 1:00-3:00

The Yellowstone Hat is a worsted weight hat with pretty color work in the body of the
hat. Work the ribbing, then the color work section, and finally the crown. Pom pom
(optional) may be purchased or created from the yarns used in the hat. The
Yellowstone Hat sizes depend on gauge. A larger hat has a looser gauge knit with
larger needles, while the smaller sizes have a tighter gauge using smaller needles.

Knitters should decide on size and figure gauge for that size. Purchase yarn with help
from staff at Yarn Bar. They should come to first class with stitches cast on and ribbing
completed. We will work on learning color work, learn about tension in color work, color dominanceand catching floats.

Knitters should have completed body of hat.
We will work on decreasing for the crown, weaving in ends and pom poms (optional)
