Sue's most recent visit to the UK home included two weekend trips into Yorkshire, about one - two hours' drive depending on traffic and where exactly we're heading.
We've been to the city of York a few times now, so the central area is familiar. York's Roman wall around the city centre is impressive and its medieval cathedral is an incredible landmark!
The shopping district with its narrow streets and alleys along with very old buildings and some original medieval streets are amazing. This pic was taken last year when we were in York - (it was the inspiration for Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter movies).
On our way back home from York on Sunday we visited Nunnington Hall. Late October sunshine on a chilly fall day makes for some pretty pics; here are a few from our walk in the gardens...
Weekend Two was a trip to Harrogate, another Yorkshire city that became very popular in the Georgian era (1714 - early 1800s) as a "spa town". We poked around a bit in the city center (ate yummy meals!).
And we ventured to the Fountains Abbey World Heritage Site two times as our first night time visit made us want to head back to see it in the daylight!
