Erika Knight

Erika Knight is a highly respected British knit and crochet designer. She has a  Fine Art background and a successful career in the fashion industry; her trend forecasting work eventually reignited her passion for the handmade. With her ‘simple’ ethos, Erika has a unique interpretation of craft: her mission is to simplify and communicate her insight and passion for handknitting with accessible yet enticing projects. Her goal is to inspire everyone to experiment and above all enjoy creating. The author of numerous highly acclaimed books on knit, crochet and craft, Erika has lectured at the V&A Museum in London, as well as leading art institutions and universities.

Erika continues to design, write, and innovate, and recently launched a new podcast - KnightKraft - alongside her daughter and co-creator Arabella. Her latest collection for Rowan Magazine sees Erika returning to the home-comforts of some of her favorite yarns in a celebration of tactile familiarity, with designs that are warm, reassuring for our times, and made to be lived in.

We first met Erika and her daughter Arabella in 2017 at TNNA, where we fell in love with their aesthetic and began stocking some Erika Knight yarns and books. They were enthusiastic and generous supporters of our new endeavor. We were thrilled to see the design capsule from her in the autumn/winter Rowan Magazine and hear about it from her via Zoom meetings. We've also enjoyed learning a bit more about her background in the chatty podcast episodes she's done with Arabella, and are eager to visit with her virtually in a couple of weeks! We hope you can join us.
