Summer Time the First

Summer Time the First

Posted by Linda Heins on

Okay. Our experience in The Yarn World told us that summertime is “the slow season” for a shop, so we ventured into Yarn Bar’s first summer with that in our heads. We’ve realized that isn’t playing out, thanks in no small part to you all.

June flew by with the market trip and our Kids’ Camp, Sale Week last week was very busy and fun, and this week has brought our first Knockers Knit Night at the coffee shop AND our first Stitch-n-Pitch at Dehler Park. We also welcomed an amazing Harry Potter Trunk Show from Forbidden Woolery! You all are loving this! After a couple of days, here's the status:

Getting this organized has made Sue kinda want to dive into the entire Harry Potter series for the fourth time - but she knows she cannot right now. Linda is listening to an audio version (again!). We're very happy to be sending these beautiful skeins of Harry Potter-inspired color & name combos into the big world.

If Harry Potter isn't your thing, we also have new merchandise starting to arrive from the June trip to market. Heads up that Uptown Worsted is being replaced by Wendy Wool, a lovely washable blend of acrylic with a little wool. From Sirdar, we have Blossom Baby in Chunky and DK weights. More is on the way too! But here's a sampling of a few. The patterning makes for easy-peasy colorwork for all the small people in your life.

Additionally, we've added to our Cestari family of yarns with Ashlawn, a super soft DK weight Virginia cotton with 25% American wool.

And we knew Mohave from the Kelbourne team would be really lovely because it's basically "from Kelbourne" (their yarns have spoken for themselves all year long).

But as we are seeing and feeling it on needles we need to tell you:

It.
Is.
Truly.
Amazing.
And an absolute pleasure to work with....
........Super-fine strands of cotton and linen are plied together for this and it's terrific.
We invite you to pop on into the shop and give everything a little squeeze. We'll keep updating as often as we can! Thank you for reading along!
