Yarn Bar Rotator: Illimani Yarns

Posted by Linda Heins on

A few words about one of our shop favorites, the Illimani company of yarns sourced in Peru and Bolivia that we're proud to say we have stocked from Day One. They came highly recommended from The Little Knittery in Los Angeles, a shop Sue visited before we opened. (We love this yarn-y world for the friendly collaboration and support from other shop owners!) If you don't want to read specifics, the overall takeaway from this lineup of yarns is this:   they are all really really REALLY soft.

Amelie:  one of our best sellers in a 56% silk, 40% baby alpaca, and 4% merino. We're still waiting for someone (ahem:  Sue) to knit herself this sweater.

Santi:  DK weight loveliness (45% ultra fine merino, 25% baby alpaca, 15% yak, and 15% silk). Nice and drapey. The Tale as Old as Time hat is on our to-do list!

Sabri:  New this past spring, organic cotton and a little alpaca, all undyed, super-soft and lovely. We sold a bunch of it! The Rambling Rose Sweater is a new pattern utilizing this yarn and look how pretty it is!!!

Eco-Llama:  everyone falls in love with its feel (100% fingering weight Baby Llama from Bolivia) and quite frankly, its good value. Beautiful all natural undyed colors!

It's perfect for this Newsprint Cowl, a nice pattern from Purl Soho.

We are thrilled to stock these fine yarns and hear nothing but excellent reviews from our friends who've used them. Thanks for reading along, and cheers to amazing vendors like Illimani here at the Yarn Bar.
