Daruma Sashiko Samplers
DARUMA's classic Sashiko Samplers are easy to make by simply stitching according to the printed pattern. This product has been a DARUMA staple for many years and was updated in 2021 with even better materials, designs, and a guide in English on how to get started. From traditional patterns to one-stitch patterns, the sashiko samplers make the best use of sashiko threads.
Sashiko Samplers are perfect as dish towels, napkins, or as an outer wrapping for homemade gifts. Each pattern is printed on durable kitchen cloth fabric (sarashi) that can be washed off after finishing. In other words, do not wash or steam until you finish stitching or the pattern will be lost!
One Sashiko Thread Card - Thin is enough to complete a Continuous Traditional sampler.
Continuous Traditional Patterns
A selection of patterns that are easy to enjoy and satisfying to embroider. Each traditional pattern has been passed down since ancient times with its own original history and meaning. You can use just one color of Sashiko thread or multiple. Delight in your time with this craft as if you were coloring a picture.
Traditional samplers require between 12–40 yards/11–30 meters of Sashiko thread. (Available in White or Navy. Blue/grey package).
Single-Stitch Patterns
Single-Stitch Sashiko is a technique in which vertical, horizontal, and diagonal stitches are created in sequence at regular intervals. The pattern emerges as you stitch, you'll forget about time and enjoy the warmth of the handiwork. Traditional and original pattern designs are available.
*Most single-stitch samplers require between 28.5–122.5 yards/26–112 meters. (Available in White. Green/grey package).
