Chatsworth House

A new travel route back to Montana required a longer drive to designated airport (two + hours to Manchester instead of the 30 minutes to regional airport), and my flight left at 6 a.m., so Mike suggested we head to Chatsworth for the afternoon on Sunday, which was sort of close to Manchester. It was a fantastic outing, a little escape before the long journey back. Chatsworth has belonged to the Cavendish family since the 1500s - 16 generations - a country estate encompassing 1,000 acres of gentle hills, situated in the Peak District of the UK. Because of Covid, the access...

Two Rambles

Over the weekend, Sue enjoyed two long rambles on the UK home turf. Lincolnshire is a relatively flat part of country and is quite agricultural. Fields continue to be divided up with well established hedgerows, and the public pathways and bridleways through the countryside are a delight for Mike and me. He heads out for long bike rides in his solo time and then knows a lot of the good spots for walks to show me when I'm here. Saturday was a 5.75 mile loop at Wold Newton. It took us through barley fields, along a field of beans, an...

More Than Halfway

The temporary job assignment is nearly 2/3 complete - wow! Nobody anticipated an event like Global Pandemic back when we were considering the pros and cons of Mike living in the UK for three years. And I won't dive far into the tears of fear, frustration, worry, and anger that some of you have witnessed from me over the past few months. We are beyond lucky that we have so far stayed healthy, as have those close to us (family and coworkers). The Covid era is forcing everyone to reevaluate what means the most and certainly slow down. The travel-to-the-UK-every-6-weeks-and-stay-for-a-relatively-short-period-of-time...

Katrinkles Fans

Have we talked about Katrinkles before??? Pretty sure, yes. But possibly it's only been one of those longer-worded Instagram posts, which maybe not everyone reads. In any case, our love for Katrinkles products can always be repeatedly professed. Our best-selling Katrinkles item are these tags. Adorable to stitch onto anything! People also really like our teeny logo stitch markers; a sweet little souvenir to share with knitting groups back home for travelers if they don't want to break the bank. We've got another fun branded and custom creation from Katy - these needle gaugers. She started us off with a...
