Kestrel Trunk Show

We are lucky to have several beautiful garments in shop to inspire your next project using Kestrel, the aran weight organic linen from Quince & Co.  We personally were in love with Kestrel when we received the first shipment to the shop last spring. It's an aran weight organic linen that creates beautiful texture and drape in finished garments. And you all loved it too, since several Mira and Deschain tops-to-be hopped onto needles. Sue wore Mira all summer and Meredith looks so pretty in her Deschain! These two tops are patterns we would make again, and we are lucky...

Here’s to the Twenty-Something Knitters

Instead of the usual Sue, this is her daughter, Carrie, “guest starring” for this week’s post sharing my story as a virtual student trudging through the COVID-19 crisis with the help of some old hobbies. Driving home from school almost two months ago to continue my biochemistry studies from home, I contemplated what in the world I would do with all this newfound time on my hands. That's a southern addiction."   Beagle Bagel Chicken Salad   5-6 chicken breasts, *cooked and shredded (plus onion and celery for flavor while boiling) 5 rounded T. sour...

Knitted Home-Sweet-Home

There's something pretty irresistible about the shape of a house when it is scaled down and created with yarn and needles. During this pandemic it seems like knitted houses might be popping up a bit more. Maybe it's becoming the Year Of The House? We've got a few favorites in a variety of projects to point out in case you feel like knitting cute houses while staying close to home. The Nineteen Hundred House Dishcloth by Amanda Ochoki has been our favorite for years. Tweek it from dishcloth mode by knitting coaster sized with fingering weight yarn, to a pillow top with...

A Little Mental Health Moment from Sue

I watched "well-known therapist" video opinion about our collective coping during Global Pandemic Crisis and one thing she said really made sense to me:  we are all grieving the loss of life as we knew it just a few weeks ago. This is in addition to huge life changes that we are all dealing with. It's A LOT, and no wonder the Focus Factor seems to be suffering for everyone I've talked to. I'm not a licensed anything for mental health, but I do know that Grief and Huge Life Changes both take TIME to process/heal. And so even though...
